HBIA Gains National Recognition For Innovation and Environmentally Friendly Solutions

For Release: May 10, 2005

The Healthy Building Institute of America (HBIA) is honored to be selected by the Environmental Education Foundation (EEF) to sit on an advisory board for the development and implementation of new IAQ/Mold Standards.

The EEF, a 13 year old non profit environmental organization and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are working with an advisory board of experts to set universal standards for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) testing and results. The new standards, expected to launch between 2005 and 2006, will eliminate ambiguity and subjective results, while ensuring continuity among service providers.

The EEF is one of the leading providers of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) educational programs addressing the concerns of builders, lenders, property owners and mangers, insurance and real estate companies, schools, businesses and families.

Additionally, The EEF has also approved The National indoor Air Quality Institute Certified IAQ Training Programs. HBIA training programs have achieved national attention through their use of environmentally friendly technologies and solutions, as well as, the innovation of a "whole house" approach to mold assessment and remediation.

HBIA combined elements of traditional remediation guidelines with new technologies, environmentally friendly solutions and a "whole house" approach, to meet and exceed the changing demands of the marketplace and the environment.

HBIA also provides referral services, matching residential and business clients from across the country, with Certified Professionals in their respective service regions, as well as their areas of expertise (residential, commercial, specialized services, etc.).

Earlier this year, the EEF announced their acceptance of the Harvard School of Public Health Symposium: The Impact of Mold on Human Health as meeting the organization’s continuing education requirements.
